When Gill told us that her favourite part of the store were the mannequins, displaying Frip Vintage styling, we couldn't wait to see what she'd do with them given the opportunity to style them.
The result - Runway to Real-way Frip Vintage Style.
Gill took inspiration from three recent Gucci looks to create her mannequin styling. We think she did rather well. See what you think!.
Claudia

Our female front window mannequin Claudia was styled in a short black skirt with a pussy-tie blouse under a pink knit vest, which toned beautifully with a soft black jacket with red lining. Gill chose the black jacket for it's complementary lining and as a more wearable look in spring than a fur print.
The jacket sold within 2 hours of Gill styling Claudia in the window. Claudia is now wearing a boucle style channel inspired jacket which brings a wonderful light spring look to the outfit.
Claude

Our favourite man-nequine Claude is wearing a striped collared polo shirt underneath a denim button up and leather jacket. Gill opted for a more relaxed look for this french-expat living in NZ, keeping the shirt loose. With style and practicality in mind, Gill has chosen to feature another continuing trend in menswear out of Europe - the cross-body bag. Get yours in store a Frip.
Chloe

If I'm being honest, we are not sure we've settled on a name for our third in-store model, but in honour of our supplier I call her Chloe. Gill drew on a couple of outfit ideas in styling Chloe, laning on the new-classic of blue blackstyling. While oversized shoulders on the jacket create a wonderful silhouette on the runway, for real life Gill toned these down a bit, while still allowing for a little messiness in the shirt (which could be flattened with a belt or used to carefully hid a bit of tum).
Thanks Gill - love your work!
