Hi, I'm Maddy. I’m the Social Media Manager and Assistant Manager at Frip Vintage. The roles let me combine some of my favourite things: people, fashion, storytelling and creativity.

I’ve spent most of my career in retail and worked my way into management, but what I’ve always loved most is the people. I think shopping should feel personal.

My retail super power - styling 

I love getting to know someone, helping people find a perfect piece to work with their existing wardrobe, or putting together an outfit that they feel excited to wear. 

If someone walks out feeling a little more confident than when they came in, then I’ve done my job.

Fashion has always been a form of self-expression for me. When I was little, Mum let me choose my own outfits every day, even when that meant three skirts, pyjama pants and every colour imaginable at once. Years later she told me she never wanted to stop me expressing myself or make me second guess who I was. That’s always stayed with me.

That's probably why I still love styling pieces in unexpected ways and showing people that there can be different ways to wear a piece.  Or even how to re-purpose an item entirely - for instance turning vintage European cycling shirts into on-trend street wear. 

Social media

Alongside fashion, I’d always been drawn to social media and storytelling. After my health took an unexpected turn, I finally gave myself the push to pursue it properly and completed my Diploma in Social Media Marketing last year.

Then I found Frip, and the concept just clicked. Every piece already has a story, and I get to help tell those stories both online and in store. Being trusted by Mel to help shape that experience has been one of the highlights of my career so far.
